A grand design that was once hung in the long gallery at Temple Newsam. Tall vases are arranged one above the other with floral wreaths sprays of blossom and foliage in a high repeat of just over a metre. The original design had a repeat of 18 feet and would have been manufactured as a special commission and at great cost. Zoffany reproduced this paper from a document of 1826 which was based on the earlier version from 1735-50.
