J. H. Dearle designed Thistle in 1897 as a block printed wallpaper and for the first time it has been adapted into a fabric using a technique of discharge printing on pre-dyed linen a method often used by Morris & Co. in the 19th century. Today it looks graphic and modern in four striking colourways.
