Inspired by Morris embroidered bedcover stitched by Jane Morris and assisted by friends such as Mary de Morgan in 1894-5 Kelmscott Trellis depicts pretty motifs of flowers and fruit within a scrolling trellis embroidered on linen. The style of the original shows Janes growing expertise in the craft the design being far more sophisticated and demonstrated with a more confident technique than her earlier Sunflower wallhangings.
