COMMERCIAL FINANCE MANAGER, DENHAM

A new opportunity has arisen with Style Library Management Team for a Commercial Finance Manager, who will be instrumental in providing commercial finance analyst, insight and strategic support to the Management Team.


Responsibilities

 Planning and performance monitoring

  • Support business partners to produce the annual budget and quarterly re-forecasts including commentary
  • Lead revenue / margin / contribution reporting and explanation of performance against budget, prior performance and market conditions
  • Highlight future risks and opportunities by reforecasting the in-year expected results 
  • Provide commentary to be included in the monthly business performance review and report to the WGB board

Provide meaningful analysis and collaborate to produce insight

  • Understand the drivers of current performance
  • Use internal and external information to extrapolate future performance based on scenario planning
  • Work with business partners to turn analysis into value adding insight

Manage strategic objectives

  • Work with business partner to produce the strategic plan using insightful analysis
  • Turn the strategic plan into strategic objectives
  • Support the production of commercially viable business cases to deliver the strategic initiatives
  • Turn strategic initiatives into budget deliverables
  • Monitor and track the delivery of strategic initiatives

Finance projects

  • Lead / support finance projects as required including supporting acquisitions, embracing digital, seeking operational efficiencies

Stakeholder management

  • Working closely with senior stakeholders including Style Library UK and International Sales Director, USA General Manager, Finance Director and Walker Greenbank Group Finance
     

Experience and skills

  • Commercially focused Finance professional with a pro-active outlook
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to translate numbers into a business story
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to communicate with all levels of the business 
  • Previous experience in a finance business partner role
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with a BI tool ie. QlikView desirable
  • Team Management Experience
  • Degree standard of education and qualified with CIMA/ACCA/ACA

ASSISTANT MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT, LOUGHBOROUGH

This is an excellent opportunity to join a diverse finance team, based in our Loughborough office.

You will be responsible for preparing accurate management accounts, reporting and ensuring compliance within stringent financial controls;

Responsibilities

  • Accounting for accruals and prepayments
  • Reconciliation of intercompany balances on a monthly basis.
  • Reconciling of multi-currency bank accounts
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Assist with management of corporate cards
  • Assist with external audits at half year and year end
  • Ad hoc reports and analysis
  • Delivery of the monthly management accounts, statutory accounts and reporting to group to agreed deadlines.

You will also have regular contact with the Group Finance team, external auditors, stakeholders and budget holders and the wider team.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong communications skills and the ability to report finance information to non-finance colleagues
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to self-review and error-check work to ensure accuracy
  • Highly developed problem solving abilities and organisational skills
  • Competent user of MS Excel to intermediate level
  • Excellent numerical and communication skill
  • Ideally educated to A Level standard

INTERNATIONAL SALES ADMINISTRATOR – RUSSIAN SPEAKER, DENHAM

An opportunity to use your language skills in the Customer Service Team providing excellent customer service to our International Clients
 

Responsibilities

  • Take incoming calls from customers via telephone, fax and email.
  • Ensure orders and sample requests are processed immediately.
  • Liaise with the Commercial Department with regard to out of stock items or ‘specials’.
  • Advise customers of any delays or problems and continue to keep them informed.
  • Advise the Accounts Department and Sales Managers of any discrepancies on credit limits.
  • Inform Team Leader of any issues affecting Customer Service.
  • Maintain any paperwork/filing on a daily basis.
  • Adhere to all general office procedures.
  • Investigate all credits and returns fully and action where necessary.
  • Report all quality failures by warehouse or external carriers promptly via the correct procedures.
  • Keep up to date all information held on the country profiles for shared use.
  • Produce export documentation where necessary (paint orders).
  • Dispatch all sampling materials following new launches as instructed by the Sales Managers.
  • Inform Sales Manager of any additional sampling needs of the customer.
  • Provide sales information to the Sales Managers as requested.
  • Obtain a good working knowledge of all export markets by working closely with other members of the team
  • Ensure all customer requests are fulfilled in colleagues’ absence.
  • Provide assistance and support to any member of the team as and when requested.
  • Provide assistance in other areas of the customer services department, and be fully aware of all customer service procedures.
  • Take ownership to learn and improve product knowledge

Skills and Experience

  • 1 year customer service experience
  • Language skills, Russian another language would be an advantage
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Good clear telephone manner
  • Competent written English Skills
  • Working knowledge of International terms of trade, including incoterms
  • Good organisation skills

DEBIT AND CREDIT ADMINISTRATOR, DENHAM

Working as part of the Customer Service Team, with the  administration of product returns, debit/credit notes, carrier claims and reporting.  This will involve full investigation to meet set company criteria.

Responsibilities

Credits

  • Raise claim where required
  • Liaise with Customer Service and co-ordinate and challenge claims raised
  • Investigate and interrogate the system in relation to queries
  • Raise relevant credit documents ensuring accuracy before actioning
  • Collate necessary paperwork and record efficiently
  • Investigate unauthorised warehouse returns – contacting customer where necessary
  • Be aware of customer pricing agreements in the UK and Export
  • Liaise with Credit Control in relation to customer account queries

Credits

  • Investigate and process debit queries
  • Receive debits notes alongside Credit Control
  • Liaise with the purchasing department where necessary to action claims at Debit Note stage
  • Action all John Lewis Debit Notes and query pricing/quantity queries
  • Maintain records for customer services department and finance
  • Raise credit or appropriate correspondence

Finance Queries

  • Investigate queries from Finance prompted by:
  • Customer queries
  • Non or short payment of customer invoices
  • Ledger discrepancies

Warehouse/Distribution Centres

  • Receive, check and amend as necessary, all customer returns
  • Reconcile with debits and cross reference details as required
  • Liaise with the Audit department for stock discrepancies

Other Duties

  • Responsible for Monthly reports in relation to claims
  • Re-routing and repackaging parcels received at Head Office
  • Filing of all debit and credit documents
  • Make outbound customer care calls and proactively manage the relationship of all customers
  • Ensure all promises are kept to all customers
  • Provide feedback on activities as required
  • Keep Manager informed of any threat to the achievement of objectives with proposals for their solution

 

Skills and Experience

  • Intermediate Word/Excel
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • At least 2 Years Customer Service Experience
  • Good Negotiation Skills
  • Excellent numeric skills 
  • Educated with minimum GCSE grade C English and Maths
